Looking for name of song and who sings it some of the lyrics are "Find yourself another way home"?
Q. I hear it on a lot of top 40 stations. It sounds like it is from the 80's and possibly folk contemporary rock. A female sings the chorus that says, "Find yourself another way home". I really love this song and would love to find out the name and artist associated with this song. If anyone could help thanks.

How do I answer the "Tell me about yourself" question at a job interview?
Q. I have a job interview today and I'm pretty sure they're going to ask a vague question along the lines of "tell me about yourself". I have no idea how to answer it. Most people suggest to talk about work experience relevant to the job - but I've never had a job before. I don't particularly want to highlight my education either, since I dropped out of university after my second year, so that doesn't look good either. So I really don't know what to talk about. What should I say?

A. Try talking about your strengths that would impact the job you are applying for. Creativity, people person, etc. You also could explain how this job will help you get experience and grow in whatever field it is. Just be yourself, smile and dress appropriately for the interview - whatever would be expected daily at that job. No jeans, sneakers, sweats. Shake the interviewer's hand and be sure to thank him/her for their time after the interview. I follow up note or email would also be appropriate. good luck.

How do you say "make yourself at home" in Spanish?
Q. and if you will, also "help yourself to anything in the refrigerator." Bipolar - translator, really?
Asked by - Sat Jun 12 06:51:32 2010 - Languages - 9 Answers - Comments
A. The standard phrase for "make yourself at home" in Spanish is "Estas en tu casa" (In some paces they also say "Mi casa es tu casa"). Help yourself to anything in the refrigerator." - "Sirvete lo que quieras de la nevera/del refrigerador/del frigorifico/de la heladera/de la refrigeradora" (Refrigerator" is one of the few words that is said a different way in practically every part of the Spanish-speaking world - however, any Spaniosh-speaker would understand any of these words).

Why do liberals always say "educate yourself" when they are trying to shove some propaganda at you?
Q. I have a college degree, yet these liberals come by blathering about the corporations and the New World Order to me. Then when I tell them I don't agree with them, they always say in a condescending way "educate yourself!" like I am stupid because I think they are full of it.

A. Hmmm, I don't know. Do you sound uneducated when you speak? Do you get the facts - both sides of the story - before you form an opinion? When you say you don't agree with them, do you tell them why or do you just say things like "stupid liberal, etc etc" and throw your own propaganda at them? P.S. Having a college degree doesn't necessarily mean you are an expert on every subject.

Q. Plz if anyone help me with some example, by giving their name and every details so that it will be easy for me in an interview to perform that task well, so please help me. If an interviewer ask you that question "Tell about yourself," what will be your answer, how do you put the terms, etc.??? Thank you.

A. With that question they want to know about your education.. what schools you went to. If you ever did any volunteer work. if you have previous work experience...of any kind. They just want to know what kinds of schools you attended, if you graduated with a degree... if you went to college or to high school, if you ever had any previous work experience.. that is all they want to find out by asking ''tell us all about yourself'' .. if you have a hobby that is creative and worth mentioning or a hobby that shows you are good at interacting with other people then you can mention that.

Fer people with "scene hair": Do you usually cut it yourself at home or do you go to the hair salon?
Q. This question is fer people with "scene hair" ( theres no other way i can describe it ) Do you cut it yourself at home? if yes, how? What do you do? If a salon; how good do they cut it? how did u describe it? What salon would you suggest? Thanks ^_^ to Schuyler F: um i didnt say anything about emo, but okay...

A. I don't have scene hair, but i have emo hair which is quite similar. I just took a few pictures in to the hairdressers and explained what parts of what hair i wanted. e.g "her fringe" "her choppy layers" etc. You should get her to straighten it before cutting it though. And to obtain that "scene" look, get it razored. Tell them you want choppy layers, in a mullet like fashion (because scene hair is basically a mullet) dont forget pictures in case they don't understand, or do it wrong. And when you get it cut, don't go dying it right away. You should wait a few weeks before adding accessories such as bows, and clips (headbands don't look all that good, but you could still wear them). And then after a few weeks… [cont.]

What does: "What else can you tell us about yourself," mean when your highschool application asks you this?
Q. Hey everyone!! :) Okay, so at the bottom of my highschool application it asked: "What else can you tell us about yourself?" I don't want an answer, of course, (that would be cheating), but what does this question mean? Like, what sports do I play or what color is my hair? What do they mean? Thanks so much!!!
Asked by DancingQueen17 - Mon Jan 4 16:19:38 2010 - Words & Wordplay - 1 Answers - Comments
A. I think they want to know what your interests and enthusiasms are - what sport you play, any clubs you belong to, if you enjoy making music, generally what sort of person you are. Hair colour etc. wouldn't be relevant. Good luck with your application.

How do you say "Believe in yourself" in Latin?
Q. Im gettting this in a tattoo, so obviously i want it to be correct. It doesnt have to be exactly "believe in yourself" it can be something like "trust yourself" or whatever. If possible, please tell what the actually translation is and how qualified you are to be telling me. Im tired of getting eople that look at these types of questions and then go to a english-latin translator and give me something that i know isnt corr3ect. Thanks for the help!
Asked by - Tue Sep 15 19:48:01 2009 - Languages - 2 Answers - Comments
A. Tibimet fide = Trust/believe in yourself. Fide = singular imperative of verb fido, fidere. Means trust (in), believe (in). The 'in' is not needed as a separate word - it's inherent in the verb. Tibimet = tibi + met Tibi = yourself -met = a form 'tacked on' to a pronoun to make it emphatic.

A. Maggie Murphy's home around Glasgow was a home for wayward children. Long ago it was closed I think in Victorian times.

When am i suppose to say "You just contradicted yourself" in a mock trial?
Q. I've been playing this game called "Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney" (Great game. I recommend it). A. Having just played the Friar, I am very sympathetic towards him. Read his last speech- he is actually completely unbiased, and gives a fair account. Most of the events that occur are out of control- the main argument for his guilt is that he should have been responsible and just stopped them. However, as I've said, most of the events which occur are not of his own doing- eg Romeo finding out about Juliet's "death", the other Friar being "stayed in Verona" etc. Anyway, at any point where he says something that doesn't quite add up (there are bound to be a few), you can shout it out.

If "being yourself" leads to social shunning, is this a legitimate time to "put on an act"?
Q. (Inspired by another question.) Everyone wants to be accepted in a social community. Everyone wants to be liked and respected. When someone asks how to accomplish these things, a common answer is "be yourself." My question is, what if being yourself causes the opposite? What if being yourself is a cause of ridicule and ostracism? Is it OK for a person like this to wear a mask when around others? What would you suggest a person like this do in social interactions?

What is your worst "do-it-yourself" ; horror story?
Q. I am trying to talk a friend out of trying to replace the windows in her house herself. I keep telling her it is NOT that easy since I hired a company specializing in windows and doors and saw firsthand the work it takes to remove old windows and then replace them. My friend has done some work around her house like re-tiling her bathroom and replacing the sink and to be truthful, while it's passable work, it LOOKs like somebody who didn't know what they were doing. The work will pass I guess but I can't understand why someone who has the money won't hire a professional. Won't her insistence on doing it herself only serve to lower the value of her home if she should decide to sell?

A. LOL Good Question! Nice Answers! --- My worst, was not a horror story of a job that went bad... My worst, was my brother in law. He wanted to go to work with me. He works in an office all week, and wanted to "get a tan and enjoy working outside". I kept telling him no, I would not take him, but finally had to. One summer day, Garry is helping me build a storage shed. It is normally a one day job and I am rushing. Garry doesn't believe we will get done, let alone beat the rain. He is more In-The-Way than out of the way, but I did find him small jobs to do and he did okay until it was really rush-rush time just as dusk rolled in. I was almost done with the roofing.
